Surfing
Surfing beaches within a nine mile radius from the Salt House include Croyde, Woolacombe, Putsborough and Saunton Sands (see Beaches section of website). Surfboards and wetsuits can be hired from all of these beaches and individual or group surf lessons are available in season.

Diving
The Marine Nature Reserve of Lundy Island is only 23 miles from Ilfracombe and Ilfracombe also has several dive sites closer to home..
Ilfracombe Dive Club is open to BSAC members and has details of charter boat trips available to other affiliated divers on its website.
Ilfracombe based Easy Divers is the only PADI Dive Centre in North Devon. It offers:

- PADI Open Water and Advanced Open Water Training Courses
- Lundy Seal Dives with option of full equipment hire
Fishing
Sea fishing from the pier is popular as is fishing from the numerous charter trips on offer from the harbour for novices and experts alike.
Stand Up Paddleboards and Kayaks
SUPs and Kayaks can be hired from Watermouth Cove which also offers inflatable rides and launching facilities for jet skis.
Coasteering
Several local companies offer coasteering training and experiences around Woolacombe and Ilfracombe.
