Ilfracombe
Ilfracombe has a small harbour beach and several smaller coves (including tunnels beach Tunnels Beaches) but most people looking to spend a day on the beach head for Woolacombe, Croyde or Saunton Sands
Woolacombe Bay (6 miles away)
A three mile stretch of golden sand renowned for its cleanliness, water quality and facilities. Voted number one beach in the UK on Tripadvisor twice in recent years and holds the ‘England for Excellence Gold Award’ for best family resort. The whole beach is dog friendly out of season but the busiest parts have restricted access to dog walkers in high season. Woolacombe has many eating and drinking establishments.
Barricane Bay (6 Miles away)
Located at the northern end of Woolacombe. Barricane Beach Café offers Sri Lankan curry on the beach on Thursday evenings in the summer (bring your own beer)
Saunton Sands (10 miles away)
This sandy beach stretches for 3 miles and has a fantastic indoor and outdoor licensed beachside restaurant (Beachside Grill) offering grilled meat and seafood.
Croyde Bay (9 miles away)
The surfing capital of North Devon and home to the renowned Thatch pub (The Thatch)
